London has been amazing this weekend.  The sky is a perfect shade of blue and the temperature is practically balmy!

To make the most of this weather, I met two friends for High Tea, at Laduree, in Covent Garden (I love this place!).  We sat on the restaurant’s balcony, overlooking the piazza, sipping tea, nibbling finger sandwiches and delighting in french pastries and desserts.  Such a lovely way to spend a summer afternoon.

I also enjoyed a spot of shopping and picked up a few new pieces from H&M and Zara (no doubt you’ll see more of these in the coming weeks!).  Zara is brilliant at the moment.  They’ve got some amazing trend pieces and gorgeous basics.

It’s been so nice to wear some of my summer clothes.  This Marni at H&M blouse has beautiful detailing at the back so it’s something I’ve been waiting to wear sans blazer!

I hope you’ve all had a brilliant weekend too!

As you can see from yesterday’s outfit, I was definitely feeling a Spring vibe!  I’ve been eyeing up this mint green H&M knit for a long time and finally decided to buy it on Friday.  I wore it with my new lace skirt and cobalt blue sandals (both from Zara).  I love the mint green and cobalt blue colour combination at the moment!  I imagine you’ll see a few more posts featuring this colour scheme during the Spring/Summer.

Last night was great.  I visited a cute pub in Hampstead to catch up with some of my lovely friends from home.  The narrow little road leading up to the pub featured a slope full of pretty little purple flowers… I couldn’t help but stop and take a photo of them.  It was so nice to spend time with my friends, catching up on the latest news over a glass of wine and dinner.  Next weekend we’re heading into Covent Garden for high tea… can’t wait.

Happy Sunday everyone.  I hope you’re all having a great weekend.

P.S.  While we were taking these outfit photos, our little cat ‘Harry’ couldn’t help but follow us outside to see what was going on.  So cute!

‘They’re Real’ mascara, by Benefit, is one of my beauty bag must-haves.

Of all the mascaras I’ve used, this one delivers the longest and fullest lashes.  The first time I used it, I was super impressed.   The difference, once applied, was really dramatic!

If I’m after a glam pair of party peepers, this is definitely my go-to eye make-up essential.

I’m falling head-over-heels for these on-trend, marine-print, pyjama-style trousers from Zara.  I love the combination of turquoise and blue with gold zip detail. The soft fabric is perfect for balmy summer nights and warm days lazing in the park.

As for the yellow nail varnish, I was a little unsure at first, however, this trend is also starting to really grow on me.  I love this buttery shade from Barry M but also think a neon shade would work amazingly with the oceanic palette of this outfit.

Which Spring/Summer trends do you like at the moment?

After weeks of drizzle and grey skies, the sun is finally shining on London.  When the skies are blue, this city is transformed.  Everything seems brighter, happier, and more colourful.  We flood the parks, footpath cafes and pubs, generally making the most of the sun’s golden rays on our warmth-starved skin.

To make the most of this weather, we took a trip to the Southbank and enjoyed a glass of wine, on a balcony, overlooking the Thames.  The golden afternoon sky was the perfect backdrop for a relaxing sundown drink.

We also (and I was so excited about this!!) went to see the Damien Hirst exhibition at the Tate Modern.  With so many iconic pieces on display it felt like we were sightseeing in a new city…. with pieces of art like famous and familiar landmarks.

Wherever you are today, I hope the sun is shining and skies are blue.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try Estee Lauder’s Invisible Fluid Makeup.  I’m a big fan of tinted moisturisers and sheer foundations… as soon as I apply a full-coverage foundation I immediately find myself wanting to scrub it off.

I’ve been using this product for almost a fortnight now and am absolutely thrilled with it.  The colour-match is excellent and application is silky smooth.  I’ve found that its coverage is sheer and light-weight but good enough to even out my skin tone and dull darker irregularities.  In my opinion, this is a great summer-skin beauty bag buy.

I will definitely be purchasing again.

Finally… the long weekend is upon us!

I took a detour, via Zara (dangerous… I know!), on my way home last night and picked up these fab pieces.

I’m planning on wearing them together with platform sandals, an oversized handbag, and some statement jewellery.  I love clashing rock chic with girly pieces.

Wishing you a safe and wonderful weekend!

There are few foods as visually appealing and distinctly pretty as a french macaroon.  To me, an afternoon tea at Laduree is the grown-up version of a trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.  Their glass display cabinet features a sugary spectrum of delicately flavoured pastel discs… pistachio, vanilla and raspberry to name but a few.

My trip to their Covent Garden cafe, last Saturday, provided the inspiration for the sheer pastel blouses featured in this post.  To me, these softly hued pieces are equally as pretty and fun to wear as a macaroon is tasty to eat!

This year, most of my spare time has been consumed by training for last weekend’s London Marathon.  Now that I’ve completed the marathon (hooray!!), it feels as though life can finally return to normal.

Yesterday was my first relaxing Saturday in months so I took the opportunity to meet a friend for lunch and do a spot of shopping in Covent Garden.  The weather was utterly miserable (hence the need to wear boots in April), however, it was just so nice to revert to fun Saturday activities!

I saw some lovely clothes while I was out and about.  A denim shirt in Karen Millen, lace skirt in Zara, and practically everything in Ted Baker caught my eye!

I hope your Saturday was equally as enjoyable!
